在傣族，每年的泼水节就如同一道光鲜亮丽的风景，热闹非凡。泼水节就相当于在公历的四月中旬(4月13-16日)举行，一般会持续3天至7天的时间呢。第一天被称为“麦日”;第二天被称为“空日”;第三天是新年，叫“叭网玛”，意为发首。“麦日”相当于除夕，而新年是有一天中最喜庆的日子。

今年暑假，我有幸在云南西双版纳勐腊橄榄坝亲身体验了一回“泼水节”的欢乐。
“泼水节”活动在一个圆形的大广场上进行。我们都换上了傣族的传统服饰。
活动前，首先举行了一场隆重的仪式。人们打起了大鼓，吹响了号角，全场气氛立即变得肃穆起来。接着，一位中年男子身穿黄袍，头戴金冠，手执话筒，威严地坐在一张藤椅上，由一只大象驮着，庄严的绕场三周。同时与所有在场的人一起，亮出嗓子，放开声音，尽情地大声喊叫到：“水!水!!水、水、水!!!水!水!!水、水、水!!!…… ”三周绕毕，从东边涌出一群傣家姑娘，约摸二十出头的样子，长得很俊俏，手挽一张花伞，上着短衣，下着筒裙，足蹬一双绣花虎头布鞋，跳起了优美的、欢快的、流畅的舞蹈;又从西边冒出一群傣族姑娘小伙儿，或扮孔雀，或扮蝴蝶，或扮青蛙……或者干脆什么也不扮，一袭素衣长纱儿，翩翩起舞，但不多时，便又款款地退了下去。正当人们被东边姑娘们的舞姿所吸引住时，忽然，只听见主持人用傣语厉声高叫到：“放——水——!!!”。须臾间，但觉眼前一亮，喷泉就喷出了水。顷刻间，水便溢满了大半个广场!泼水活动此时正式开始。
起初，人们“对泼”，也就是不管是认识的，还是不认识的，端着盆子舀着水就泼，若是被泼到了，就还得“回敬”人家一盆，显得甚是杂乱无章。接着，方才跳舞的姑娘们，纷纷弃了花伞，端了盆子，对着人群形成了一个“包围圈”，把跳舞时还没用完的劲儿，全都用在了对人群的泼水上;而人群呢，也尽量地围成一个圈子，向她们泼，也同样是使尽了全身的力气。人们泼着、笑着、闹着，尽情地徜徉在这欢乐的海洋中。
在主持人的引导下，各人自朝天空泼十七泼，最后又以一次“对泼”，为本次活动画上了一个完美的句号。我们也恋恋不舍地放下了盆，结束了这次“泼水狂欢”。
虽然，我早已返回家乡，虽然两地相隔千山万水，虽然时间已过去一个多月，但我的耳畔仍回荡着“噗噗”的泼水声和“哗哗”的流水声，我眼前还时常浮现出一幕幕欢乐的泼水场景。.
